Home Inspections

Your home is one of your biggest investments

Potomac Homes is dedicated to enabling you:

  • to make an informed decision when you are about to buy a house

  • to maintain and increase the value of your investment over the years

  • to sell your residence at the highest market price.

You deserve a Professional Inspection

Before making your final buying or selling decision, you should get a professional home inspection, even when buying a newly constructed home.

A Professional Home Inspection will help you gain valuable knowledge about your house condition which will help you to make an informed decision about a house based on objective information. [more...]

  • Pre-Listing Inspections  For sellers, getting a home inspection before the house goes on the market will avoid unexpected costs, delays or cancellations after an agreement has been reached. Moreover, this provides an opportunity to make repairs that will put the house in better selling condition. [more...]

  • Pre-Purchasing Inspections  For buyers, a home inspection will help buyers uncover defects in a house before they invest. [more...]

  • Historic House Inspections  Detailed inspection for understanding the original structure and changes that have occurred over time. This will help you to decide whether you need to just gut the interior and start over. [more...]

  • New House Inspections  A professional home inspection will substantially reduce the risk for your large investment in a new house. [more...]

  • Walkthrough Inspections  In Maryland, all electrical, heating, air conditioning, plumbing and any other mechanical systems and related equipment, appliances and smoke detectors included in the contract must be in working condition. Issues related to these systems and components can be discussed and negotiated at closing. A shorter inspection can be performed at the final walkthrough; but it is not as detailed as our full inspection, costs less, looks at less but gives you a chance to have an experienced look at the house one last time.

  • Maintenance Inspections  Like a regular medical check-up, a home maintenance inspection discovers issues as they develop, allowing preventive maintenance and remediation, rather than major repair later. [more...]

Neighborhood Environmental Reports

Don't forget to get a Neighborhood Environmental Report too.

For an additional fee, Potomac Homes will send you a Neighborhood Environmental Report (NER), which includes everything from the status of local hazardous waste sites to heath risks specific to your neighborhood.

It will help you be aware of your surroundings and confident in knowing that your investment and your family are protected.
