What is a home inspection?

A professional home inspection is an independent, objective, and complete examination of the condition of the visible and accessible components and systems of a house.

The home inspection provides you with an expert opinion and professional report on the condition of the physical structure and various systems within the house, giving you peace of mind on what is likely the largest purchase you'll ever make.

The purpose of having a home inspection is to:

  • gain knowledge of the condition of the property

  • understand how the numerous house systems work

  • locate critical shutoff valves for water, oil and/or gas that will be identified and tagged for easy recognition

  • identify major defects or system problems before purchasing or selling a house

  • receive maintenance information, such as location of critical filters that will need periodical cleaning or changing, and repair recommendations.
